If Students Against Depression has helped you or someone you care about then you may wish to support us by raising funds to help us reach more people.
Students Against Depression is a flagship project of the the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust, a charity dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of depression, reducing stigma, and making sure that appropriate help is available. The Trust is committed to ongoing financial support for the site, including keeping up the project’s tradition of paying honoraria to each year’s group of student consultants as a token recognition of their valuable contribution.
The most vital financial commitment is to the ongoing publicity to ensure that each new generation of students knows about the site. If you would like to fundraise for CWMT – Pleaes do get in touch !
Setting yourself a personal goal and asking others to sponsor you to raise money for a good cause is an excellent strategy for maintaining the outward focus and healthy exercise routines which are a basic foundation of a depression-resistant life. You can make a highly valuable contribution to the Students Against Depression cause by raising money for the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust.
Ideas for ways to do this include:
- running in a 5km, 10km or marathon event – the Trust has several London Marathon places available each year, as well as places in other running events
- a cycling, walking or other endurance event of your own devising
- a trek or endurance event abroad, for example
- a fun event on your campus
Please send photos and details of any fundraising activity to add to our honour roll.
You can contribute directly to CWMT funds via our Just Giving site or by sending a cheque made payable to CWMT, to the Secretary, 16a High Street, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 3JD.
You would also be very welcome to join in with established CWMT fundraising events. For example, the CWMT Young Committee is a group of under-30s who want to support people of their own age affected by depression. They run fundraising events in and around London with an emphasis on fun, high energy and activity. See their ‘Up’ website for more details.
